Myomectomy is most commonly recommended when fertility is an issue. However, there is evidence that UFE could be a good alternative in many cases.
Some issues about myomectomy are also described in chapter B3: "Fibroids & Fertility", where the two most important uterine saving alternatives for hysterectomy are compared: Fibroid Embolisation (UFE) and Myomectomy.
Some information about complications with myomectomy can be found under chapter B2: "UFE Keyhole Surgery", where comparisons are discussed between the complications of both procedures.
There will soon be a page that will explain Myomectomy to the full as a treatment for fibroids.
